A big command in a few words
Why do we talk a lot about Church growth? that is mainly what the Bible talks about to us. We are never told to be satisfied with status-Que. Acts 1:8 is Where we are and is where We are to start then spread out world wide, but never stop where we are. It comes first. Do a short drill. take your local association book and compare the numbers of those that died, with the numbers of those Baptized. In our local Association we have 26 Churches, last year there were only 2 more Baptized, than died. The Local Churches are a great Mission field if we will only work it. What do you think? Bro. Marlin, I guess unless we are members of the church at Jerusalem, we are all foreign missionaries! Wherever we are is our mission field. I suppose low professions & baptism numbers could be attributed to several factors
ReplyDelete1)We are not busy enough
2)People (in the Bible Belt particularly) are hardened to the gospel
By the way, do you know any other Texas brethren who blog? I hesitate to admit this, but it seems as though the Arkansas preachers know how to use computers and Texas preachers don't!
Bro. Adrian, Yes there are quite a few Bloggers in Tex. they just dont make as much noise as those from La. and Ark. I love to hear it. they argue for a while then apologise for a while. then bro Mike will try to get them all to go hunting with Him, WOW. Bro Adrian.the easiest way that I have found to find a few blogs is to go from blog to blog. A goob place to start is big J blog. pastor matt. you can find several there. also Mission Brownwood. has several. And all of them have some. there is enough that You can waste a lot of time, and learn very little. The La. Ark. discussion sounds a little like "the round circle" at Camp # 1 doesnt it? Marlin Freeman.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does remind me of the "preacher's circle" at camp. Whenever they start arguing about whether there will be catfish in the river of life, we will all need to hang it up.
ReplyDeleteThere are ALOT of preachers who are now following these blogs, yet don't participate. They may be thinking about running for president one day and don't want any skeletons in the closet, you think??
Probally so.
ReplyDeleteBro. Freeman, I LOL when I read your comment about the Ar-LA blogger preachers. Thanks so much.
